Motorcycle Racing Schools:
How to Pick the Right One for You

What would be better than experiencing one of the best motorcycle racing schools? When selecting a racing school there are a lot of things to consider in terms of bang for the buck.

One of the first things to consider is what you are looking to get out of the school. Some of us are looking to wring our sportbikes by the neck with our knees dragging. Others are looking to gradually expand their confidence for spirited road rides and the occasional track day.

When considering a racing school you should pick one that also fits your budget. Unfortunately, these schools cost quite a bit to run. The staff and administration of these programs are more complex and expensive than you would think.

Another thing to keep in mind is the distance to the school. It really is a drag if you have to drive (and maybe trailer your bike) too far for a one-day school.

The other big issue is whether you need to provide your own bike or if you can use a school bike. If the school provides the bikes it makes it a hell of a lot less stressful and expensive to learn the school curriculum.

We all like to ride our own bikes, but when we are paying for a school it is better to concentrate on the instruction instead of tuning and maintaining your own bike.

Safety gear is another consideration. Usually, we will have our own gear. But if you plan on bring along a friend it would be nice if the school could provide some gear.

The curriculum and instructors are the most important aspect of the school. Regardless of your riding discipline it is important to know what is going to be covered.

Most schools publish the highlights of their particular school programs. Make sure you review these and do not be afraid to ask the school for clarifications on anything you do not fully understand.
