Motorcycle Jacket Locks: How to Buy the Right One
Motorcycle jacket locks are an inexpensive way to hang on to your expensive motorcycle jacket. The number of locks available vary in a couple of different ways. One type of lock mounts directly on your bike. These locks provide a good level of security and do not require you to remove and store any cables or pad locks. The other type of locks that are quite popular are the cable type locks. This type of motorcycle jacket locks allows the user to secure his or her jacket in various spots around the bike. One of the best cable locks we've found is the "Python" by Master lock. The Python utilizes a pliable cable that is covered in a protective covering that will prevent scratching your bike or gear. The locking head of the Python can swivel 360 degrees to provide flexibility when securing it to your bike. The cables come in several different lengths from six feet all the way up to thirty feet. The beauty of this system is its flexibility. The short cable is perfect for securing your jacket and helmet to your bike. The long cables are perfect for additional security for tieing up your bike to a pole or tree. The Python works by sliding the cable through the lock head in one direction, which is indicated by an arrow on the cable. The beauty of the lock head is that you can insert the cable and cinch it up without needing to unlock it. The Python is a flexible locking device that should provide years of trouble-free service. I've found that for securing my helmet and jacket, even the shortest cable is a little long. So I trimmed mine, but that is a personal choice. The price that I've found is between $20 and $30 USD. This seems to be a small price to pay to protect my several hundred dollar investment in my jacket and helmet. Want more info on motorcycle jacket locks, and all things motorcycle?
