Here are motorcycle helmet reviews on the best motorcycle helmets!

Motorcycle helmet reviews vary greatly both in depth and scope. Unfortunately, I've read some motorcycle helmet reviews that appear to be thinly-veiled sales text.

These types of reviews are not the most valuable. Here are a few ways to get better helmet reviews.

But first, are you ready to buy a helmet? Here are some of the brands that we recommend:

Shoei Helmets

Arai Helmets

Suomy Helmets

Nolan Helmets

What to Look for in Motorcycle Helmet Reviews

One way is to look for reviews in magazines where they directly compare features and cost without bias towards one particular brand.

Depending on the type of riding you do will determine what type of helmet review is best suited to you.

If you are an off-road rider you should be looking for reviews that cover goggle and visor fit and function. Helmets that allow the visor/sunshade to be easily adjusted for riding conditions and personal preferences will make for a more enjoyable day on your bike.

Goggle fit is also important. You want your goggles to fit snugly without restricting your vision. Also consider how your prescription eyeglasses work with your goggles.

On-road riders should consider some other things. One of the biggest considerations (after comfort and fit) is wind noise. There is nothing more irritating than having a noisy helmet during a long ride.

Another criteria to be reviewed is its ability to keep water out. No one likes having a wet head after being caught in a downpour.

There are also several criteria that should be applied to both. Weight is critical. A heavy helmet is not ideal for any type of riding.

Protection rating (DOT or SNELL) is also critical. It is not smart to save a few bucks on a helmet that offers less protection.

Washability of the liner should also be considered. We all get sweaty riding and it doesn't take long before the liner is ready for a wash.

This covers some of the basics that motorcycle helmet reviews should go over. Some go into deeper details, but this should give you a good starting point.
