Learn more about carbon fiber parts here.

You see carbon fiber being added to a lot of automotive parts, too. So it's a hot new trend. The variety of parts available today are vast.

One of the most widely used parts are the fenders and fairings. These parts lend themselves to easy replacement. By replacing just the fenders with carbon fiber parts, you can save a lot of weight--which means more speed!

Carbon fiber consists of extremely thin fibers that are composed mostly of carbon atoms. These atoms are bonded together in microscopic crystals in a way that makes the fiber very strong considering its size.

Carbon fiber yarn may be woven into a fabric that can be combined with a plastic resin and molded to form materials such as carbon fiber reinforced plastic (these are still called "carbon fiber" though). This is the type of carbon fiber materials that you often see used in motorcycle parts. These parts have a high strength-to-weight ratio.

The carbon fiber reinforced plastic makes this special material more affordable, as true carbon fiber products are typically out of reach of most people's budgets. These types of products can be found in windscreens, heel guards, chain guards, clutch covers, and many other components.

One thing to consider with carbon fiber, though, is that although it is very strong in general, it is when exposed to high shock.
